Municipal Yacht Harbor Immediately prior to Hurricane Katrina, the Municipal Yacht Harbor included approximately 595 boat slips of varying sizes. They were located on three primary concrete piers and on wooden docks running along the bulkhead on the eastern and southern edges of the harbor. All had been constructed by the WPA between 1938 and 1940, then upgraded in the 1980s. Katrina severely damaged all of those piers and slips. The Harbor FEMA Claim has been resolved by the City of New Orleans, and the redevelopment of the Harbor started in June of 2018. Presently, half of the marina is fully operational with the other half nearing completion. Slip Availability 40' Slips are available for immediate move-in. There is a waiting list for all other slip sizes. Transient slips of all sizes are available. Useful Documents:
