The MYHMC staff will begin reaching out to individuals on the waiting list based on their position on the waiting list and the required slip size. Those on the waiting list should ensure that MYHMC has current contact information on file. Waiting list members who are unable to be contacted within 7 calendar days will be passed over once, but retain their position. Should such occurrence recur, their name will be dropped from the waiting list.
Diagrams of the West side and East side of the harbor are listed below. Highlighted slips are already taken and not available. Tenants that have chosen to remain in their current slip, need not attend the slip picking function.
The slip lottery to draw numbers was held on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at New Orleans Yacht Club at 3:00PM as per the Slip Assignment Process (Adopted 8/13/2019) which is listed below:
The Marina/Harbor Committee Report dated March 14, 2019 was discussed at the MYHMC Board Meeting on Tuesday April 10th. The Board passed a Resolution Authorizing Boat Slip Lease Rates for the Restored Harbor which will go into effect when power and water is available in conjunction with the new lease.
MYHMC thanks you for your comments with respect to the Slip Assignment Process and to the Harbor Rules & Regulations Amendments.
On Wednesday, February 6th tenants had an opportunity to select an appropriately sized interim slip on the East side based on their lottery position. A diagram and schedule listing the dimensions of the East side slips is posted below:
As of Tuesday, February 19, 2019, it is anticipated that tenants will begin moving to the East side interim slips starting on Saturday, March 30, 2019 and that all tenants must be relocated no later than Sunday, April 7, 2019. As has been stated previously, the East side floating dock system will be substantially complete without power and water to the slips until the contractor receives a final Certificate of Occupancy for the East side comfort station due to the fact that the electrical switch gear is located on the second floor of the building.
What is MYHMC?
The New Orleans Municipal Yacht Harbor Management Corporation (MYHMC), a public benefit corporation of the City of New Orleans, leases and manages all of the City’s property at West End – the property located between the New Basin Canal & the 17th Street Canal, outside of the levee/flood wall, except for Orleans Marina (and the surrounding boathouses and businesses), SYC and a sliver of Jefferson Parish along the 17th Street Canal.
For over a century the City has been responsible for West End. It has seen its ups and downs, but has always been an important part of life in the City.
